- Jeep Name Story: After purchasing my black XJ for $500.00, I set out to halt the relentless march of rust. I meticulously cut out all the damage, skillfully welded in patches, sanded the entire Jeep, and applied a protective primer. Then a coat of bedliner, expertly rolled onto the entire body. Sometime later, while wheeling with a friend who drove his brand-new Jeep Gladiator, I turned onto trail too narrow to avoid trail strips. My friend joked ‘Your jeep doesn’t care; it’s like a honey badger.’ I liked the name, so it stuck. We call it HB for short.
- Jeep Description: HB’s upgrades and customizations: 1)HB is 2000 XJ sport, powered by a Tighten stroker engine 4.7 inline 6 with about 280 HP replacing the original 4.0 which had only 190 HP and a cracked head. 2)3-inch Zone off road lift all round gaining an extra half inch in the rear from the shackle. 3) 5x4.5 to 5x5 Wheel Spacers Adapters (1.5 inch) widening his stance by 3 inches. 4) Rock slides. 5) 5-Spoke Aluminum Silver Wheel; 17x7.5; 45 mm Offset taken from a 2012 Wrangler. 6) Kilmat sound deadening. 7) back carpet. 8) all interior plastic was painted black or left original grey. 9) Rough Country Neoprene Seat Covers. 10)Modern head unit. 11) Rear quarter panel armor. 12) Steel Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier & Hitch. 13) Steel front bumper with LED lights and winch plate. 14) BADLAND APEX 12,000 lb.
